First Entry - Oviedo

Wow! I’m really excited, and a little nervous for Spain. It will be quite an experience to say the least. I know some people who are going on other Spanish study abroad trips but the reason i chose Spain was because i thought it was in interesting mixture of Spanish and European culture. I am a little nervous about staying with a host family because my spanish is a little “minimal” i guess. Regardless it will be a learning experience. The reason i chose to study abroad was because i felt that i would never fully learn or grasp the language in the classroom. I am coming off Spanish 1010 and it was challenging enough, so i just decided to immerse myself in the language. I’m sure it will pay off by the time the program is over. 

I think the hardest thing for me in Spain will be just common conversation. I am better at reading than i am carrying on a conversation so i suspect that the first week or two will be a little rough, but i guess that is to be expected. Anyways... i am looking forward to the trip, the academic side, and the travel/adventure side. See you all soon.
